This Month’s Insight – Comparative measurement for a circular economy – Tools to assess the environmental impact

Lifecycle Assessment – A look beyond what you see in a product

Have you ever wondered, what is the real impact of a product, process, or service? What impacts are created by the resources that it constitutes? How energy-intensive it is? and, most importantly, what is the footprint of its end-of-life management impact?

To have a clear understanding of the true impact of a product or service we need to take a holistic view, and life cycle assessment is a method of assessment purpose-built for it.

It not only provides a cradle-to-grave analysis of environmental impacts in its results but also provides transparency into what is considered (boundary) employing a credible methodology. Therefore, it is an accepted assessment methodology that provides a complete and comprehensive measurement of the absolute impacts of a product or service, enabling comparison.
