What does a circular future look like for plantation sector?

We are excited to begin this journey with Horana Plantations PLC, a member of the Hayleys Group, as they embark on developing a Circular Economy Roadmap that will help shape a more resilient and sustainable future for the business.

Delivered by Expertise France under the EU-funded CIRCULAR Project, this initiative reflects the growing momentum behind circular economy transformation across the region. It also marks an exciting milestone for Anvarta as we continue to expand our work internationally, partnering with organisations across the Asia-Pacific to accelerate the transition to a circular economy.

The project inception visit to the Millakanda Tea Estate was a valuable opportunity to bring together the project team and establish a shared vision for the journey ahead. We were pleased to be represented by our CEO, Dr Mayuri Wijayasundara and Viveka Edussooriya alongside the Horana Plantations PLC (Hayleys Plantations) leadership team, Johann Rodrigo and Buddhi Gunasekera, and the Expertise France team, Nicolas Chenet, Director of the Sustainable Development Department, Mahmoud GABALLAH, Khema Wijegoonawardane M.A.,PMP® and Habbipriya Karthigesan.

The engaging discussions and warm hospitality provided an inspiring start to this collaboration. Meaningful change begins with strong partnerships, shared ambition, and a willingness to think differently. We are proud to be part of this collaboration and look forward to working alongside Horana Plantations, Expertise France, the European Union, and all project partners to turn circular economy ambitions into lasting impact.

Here’s to the beginning of an exciting journey!
